Jura JSP GmbH, a company located in Vienna, and the German firm WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH have agreed to cooperate on the development of new, highly effective security processes for the print industry.
Both companies are active members of PrintCity, an alliance of businesses in the global printing, packaging and publishing markets.

PrintCity, the alliance of technology-led international businesses in the graphic arts, is partnering with Newstec to deliver a Value Added Printing of Newspapers seminar session, as part of this important UK/Eire newspaper industry event in Brighton, June 11-12, 2007.
In direct response to a growing worldwide interest in Value Added Printing of Newspapers, PrintCity commissioned a yearlong independent study to research the economic, technical and operational aspects of this increasingly active area of newspaper publishing. This international project involved PrintCity members Adphos Eltosch, MAN Roland, MEGTEC, Sun Chemical and UPM, with assistance from Dr Tim Claypole at the University of Swansea. [more] |

Following the successful Brand Protection project ‘Fingerprint Box’, the PrintCity Activity Group ‘Packaging, Commercial & Sheetfed’ (AG PCS) announces a new project focused on ‘Security Solutions in Packaging Printing for the Pharmaceutical Industry’.
Pharmaceutical brand owners are a major target group for this competence study. PrintCity alliance members Jura JSP, Kurz, MAN Roland, Merck, M-real, Sun Chemical and Weilburger will be working together to share information intensively to create a valuable ‘knowledge base’ for packaging printers and converters serving the pharmaceutical market and brand owners. As part of the widening programme of ‘Connection of Competence’ Seminars in 2007, PrintCity is planning a ‘Web Offset & Sheetfed Commercial Printing’ seminar in Budapest, Hungary on Wednesday April 25th 2007.
PrintCity members will present ‘latest thinking’ in Web Offset and Sheetfed Commercial Printing, including:
- Value Added Printing of Newspapers – the PrintCity VAPoN™ project, plus other web offset topics including energy efficiency, use of wide paper rolls and roll handling
- Best practice UV sheetfed printing and coating for publication and commercial printing – including which type of UV, production systems, materials and techniques
