Brand protection with secure packaging

According to a report in the Herald Tribune in 2005, "piracy and counterfeiting are out of control". Conservative estimates put the value of counterfeit goods worldwide at some 500 billion dollars. No matter whether it is in the field of machinery, electronics, pharmaceuticals, toys or software, no sector is safe from brand piracy. Piracy and counterfeiting are a profitable business and have evolved into a well organised industry using the networks and know-how of organised crime.Which is why many experts have dubbed piracy and counterfeiting the number one crime of the 21st century.

PrintCity has established a project group who are concerned with developing potential solutions for the individual process steps from the point of view of the graphics industry. Ultimately, it is the public’s trust in brands and in the image of companies as well as the loss of turnover in sales that are at stake. And, of course, there are also issues relating to insurance.

Active brand protection with safe folding boxes

The PrintCity members and partners who are involved have bundled their experience and expertise in security and packaging printing and can boast a large number of solutions which the printing industry is able to offer its customers: Security image elements and microtexts, hidden information and effect pigments in the coating, in the design, in inks and varnishes, in postprocessing and/or using electronic means such as RFID.
